Reply with quote | #1 | R1 R2, no out.
Ball popped up to F4, he has it in his glove and then intentionally drops the ball.
What's the call...Dead ball or live, why? |

Reply with quote | #4 | Then I can't see the trick to the question here then. It's an infield fly, runners can run at their own risk and the ball is live.

Doesn't the infield fly take priority over the dropped ball? It's an infield fly first... |

Reply with quote | #7 | Dropped ball doesn't mean anything here. Infield fly rule. Batter is out. Runners run at thier own risk. Intentional dropped ball rule would be with R1 or R1 & R3 and less than two out.

Reply with quote | #8 | Actaully...the ONLY requirement for Intentionally dropped ball is if there is R1...and the ball is intentionally dropped....and the IFR doesn't take affect and there are less thent wo outs.
For instance...R1, R2 one out. Liner right to shortstop...no IFR because it's a line drive...but it's intentioanlly dropped. NOW the intentionally dropped ball rule would come into affect. |
