in game 3 of the world series.a rod hit a foul ball.that hit the camreman.joe girady came stormning out of the dugout saying that should have been a home run.the umpires got to gether and did instint replay.the umpires now said it was a home run.the camraman should have been in foul territory.if you were watching the game to me the cameraman was in foul territory.instant replay showed it was a homerun.can the phillies appeal that it was a foul ball.if the camraman is in foul territory why is it ruled a home run. |

It is quite obvious the ball is fair and that the camera is in fair territory, the argument was whether it went out and hit the camera or stayed in and hit the wall.
After review it was determined that the ball hit the camera, and in the post game interview Gerry Davis had, he said that if a ball hits any camera that is stationed out of play, it is a homerun since they can not control what the cameramen do with the camera, such as leaning it over the field of play.
As well, once replay is used, the decision is final and very little arguing is allowed after the fact. |
